This is a message for parents of students in grades 7-11:
Starting Wednesday, May 27, 2026
• All students must attend school daily and must remain on campus until 12:15pm.
• Students are required to remain in their classrooms for the full duration of each exam period.
• Students may be excused at 12:15pm with a written note from parents/guardians and approval by the principal. Phone calls will not be accepted.
• Students given permission to leave at 12:15pm will not be permitted back into the building or provided transportation.
As part of the state competition requirements, the team also researched, created, and recorded a 20-minute presentation on non-point source pollution last week. Special thanks to Aaron Turner for helping with that project!
Out of 64 teams participating in the state event, this team earned an impressive 5th-place finish — an incredible accomplishment in such a challenging competition. Their recorded presentation received the 6th-highest score in the state with a 91, and they also achieved the 2nd-highest score in the wildlife contest.
What makes this achievement even more exciting is the growth they showed from last year. Four members of this team also competed at the state level last year, where they placed 24th — an accomplishment everyone was proud of at the time. To improve all the way to 5th place this year is a tremendous achievement and a testament to their hard work, dedication, and teamwork.
