What’s Happening at L.R. Appleman Elementary?

We’ve had an exciting few weeks at Benton Area Elementary School, and our latest video highlights just a few of the great things happening in our building!

Glow-in-the-Dark Dance
Our students lit up the night at our Glow-in-the-Dark Dance! The event was filled with music, laughter, neon colors, and lots of school spirit. It was wonderful to see our students having fun together in a safe and positive environment. Thank you to everyone who helped make the evening such a success!

Read Across America Week
In celebration of National Education Association’s Read Across America Week, our students are participating in themed days, special reading activities, and classroom celebrations that promote a love of literacy. The week was filled with creative outfits, guest readers, and engaging lessons that reinforced the importance of reading every day. We are also celebrating Dr. Frank Laubach, a Benton native, credited with teaching millions of people to read.

Cookbook Sales
Don’t forget about our Elementary Cookbook! This special collection features recipes from our families and staff and makes a wonderful keepsake. Proceeds support the playground project. If you haven’t purchased one yet, there’s still time!
